According to EOS Authority, the Eos 1.8 protocol upgrade is now complete.
The long awaited hardfork was finally completed at about 13:00 GMT today, and the upgrade now allows block.one to launch its eagerly awaited dApp VOICE.
This release marks major enhancements for EOSIO, such as a more secure and scalable future for EOSIO based blockchains and dApps.
It isn't clear when block.one will release the social media platform, but the EOS community has been eagerly awaiting this upgrade, and it is believed that the launch of VOICE will be imminent.
For the first time, dApp developers will be able to pay for the RAM, which block.one hope will help onboard users in a seamless way.
